Supervisor Guardians are squarely on the side of rules and procedures, and they can be quite serious about seeing to it that others toe the mark—or else face the consequences. They do not hesitate to give their stamp of approval, nor do they withhold their directions or suggestions for improvement. Like seasoned, stalwart umpires, Supervisors will set their jaw and make the call on anyone who steps up to bat. They even feel obligated to do so, and they’re sometimes surprised when others don’t seem grateful for being set straight.
Comprising at least ten percent of the population, Supervisors go by experience and that is what counts, not speculation and experimentation, and certainly not fantasy. They keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure that those under their supervision do the same, whether employee, subordinate, offspring, or spouse. If others wish to fool around and daydream, fine, as long as they do it on their own time—which means after the job is done. But if they fritter away their time while on duty, they should not be surprised when the Supervisor calls them on the carpet. The top sergeant will not put up with such nonsense.
Supervisors are gregarious and civic-minded, and are usually key players of their community. They are generous with their time and energy, and very often belong to a variety of groups, supporting them through steady attendance, but also taking a vocal leadership role. Indeed, membership groups of all kinds attract Supervisors like magnets, perhaps because membership satisfies in some degree their need to maintain the stability of social institutions. Like all the Guardians, Supervisors worry a good deal about society falling apart, morality decaying, standards being undermined, traditions being lost, and they do all they can to preserve and to extend the institutions that embody social order. Supervisors are so in tune with the established institutions and ways of behaving within those institutions, that they have a hard time understanding those who might wish to abandon or radically change them.

Every right-minded man has a philosophy of life, whether he knows it or not. Hidden away in his mind are certain governing principles, whether he formulates them in words or not, which govern his life. Surely his ideal ought to be to contribute all that he can, however little it may be, whether of money or service, to human progress.
--John D. Rockefeller, Random Reminiscences of Men and Events
ESTJs thrive on order and continuity. Being extraverted, their focus involves organization of people, which translates into supervision. While ENTJs enjoy organizing and mobilizing people according to their own theories and tactically based agendas, ESTJs are content to enforce "the rules," often dictated by tradition or handed down from a higher authority.
ESTJs are joiners. They seek out like-minded companions in clubs, civic groups, churches and other service organizations. The need for belonging is woven into the fiber of SJs. The family likewise is a central focus for ESTJs, and attendance at such events as weddings, funerals and family reunions is obligatory.
Tradition is important to the ESTJ. Holidays, birthdays and other annual celebrations are remembered and observed often religiously by this type. The ESTJ is inclined to seek out his roots, to trace the family heritage back to honored ancestors both for a sense of family respectability and for a sense of security and belonging.
Service, the tangible expression of responsibility, is another key focus for ESTJs. They love to provide and to receive good service. The ESTJ merchant who provides dependable service has done much to enhance her self image.
ESTJs have an acute sense for orthodoxy. Much of their evaluation of persons and activities reflects their strong sense of what is "normal" and what isn't. ESTJ humor is frequently centered around something or someone being off center or behaving abnormally.
ESTJs promote the work ethic. Power, position and prestige should be worked for and earned. Laziness is rarely viewed with ambivalence nor benevolence by this type.
Some men can make decisions and some cannot. Some men fret and delay under criticism. I used to have a saying1 that applies here, and I note that some people have picked it up.
--Harry S. Truman, Mr. Citizen
1"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
The ESTJ is outspoken, a person of principles, which are readily expressed. The ESTJ is not afraid to stand up for what she believes is right even in the face of overwhelming odds. ESTJs are able to make the tough calls.
Occupations attracting ESTJs include teaching, coaching, banking, political office, and management at all levels.
ESTJs are very good at making impersonal decisions quickly, and standing by those decisions. They live in their Extraverted Thinking functioning, thus, their prime directive is in discovering that which is true and logical in the events of the real world. Circumstances calling for product invite the ESTJ to supervise or direct other individuals toward production and productivity. Extraverts are attracted to the "object," the external things and people in observable reality. This bent translates into a natural interest in goods and material objects.
The secondary Introverted Sensing is like that of the ISTJ, but not as strong. Si provides practical form and concept data to the Te head, however, form is not the overriding principle, especially if Thinking has already decided. In times of need, ESTJs are tempted to overlook even necessary information if its absence impedes closure. Secondary sensing sometimes translates into interest in sports. The persistence of primary Thinking gives many ESTJs a desire for discipline and regimen which can be beneficial in skills development in the arena.
As the ESTJ matures, and as situations arise which call for suspension of criticism, Extraverted iNtuition is allowed to play. Under the leadership of the Te function, iNtuition gravitates toward the discovery of broad categories which at worst amount to stereotypes. Those ESTJs who hone their Ne abilities may find success in academia. (I've encountered ESTJs whose Ne overshadows the auxiliary Si function--for whatever reason--to the extent that there is an appearance of NT radical geekism.)
This function may rarely be expressed. ESTJs who have cultivated, or have been blessed with, a "natural indirect expression of good will by inference," have great prospects of developing genuine friendships (as opposed to ESTJs who merely act out the behavior of Extraverted Feeling). Such a weak, introverted function is best observed in facial expression, eye contact, body language, and verbally only by implication.

Tila ibon kung lumipad
Sumabay sa hangin
Akoy napatingin
Sa dalagang nababalot ng hiwaga...
Mapapansin kaya
Sa dami ng 'yong ginagawa
Kung kaagaw ko ang lahat
May pag asa bang makilala ka...
Awit na nananawagan
Baka sakaling napakikinggan
Pag ibig na palaisipan
Sa kanta na lang idaraan...
Nag-aabang sa langit..
Sa mga ulap sumisilip..
Sa likod ng mga tala..
Kahit sulyap lang darna....!!!
Ang swerte nga naman ni Ding
Lagi ka nyang kapiling
Kung ako sa kanya
Niligawan na kita...

Para lang iyong sagipin..
Ito ang tanging paraan
Para mayakap ka..
Darating kaya
Sa dami ng ginagawa
Kung kaagaw ko sila
Paano na kaya?..

During the past three decades of the Philippines, we have seen discernment and faultiness of the Philippine presidents. Instead of progressing, our country becomes degraded and pitiable. These are problems that struck the Philippines, these would not kill us but it would definitely lead to our success if we don’t give up and stay put in this country to spar with it and to overcome its struggles. The problem is Filipinos have lost hope so they leave our country to search for greener pastures.

Synopsis:
Taku Morisaki and Yutaka Matsuno were the best of friends... until Rikako Muto came along. Matsuno has been attracted to Rikako ever since the first time he saw her, but Rikako seems more drawn to Morisaki. Morisaki thinks of Rikako as nothing more than a nuisance... but is that how he really feels?
Review:
Ocean Waves is Studio Ghibli's take on a coming-of-age anime, featuring characters, events, and emotions that are so real you'd feel that at one point you or someone you know had experienced them too.
Taku Morisaki is on his way back to his hometown Kochi for a high school reunion. He remembers how his life was changed forever by a girl named Rikako. Taku narrates as he recalls how he met Rikako and what had transpired between him, Rikako, and his best friend Matsuno. It's kind of like a less angsty and more pragmatic episode of Dawson's Creek... but a lot more tasteful and better done in all aspects. What I liked best about Ocean Waves was the characterization. Just about anyone can identify with Morisaki, Matsuno, and Rikako. They're regular people. They're not perfect. They have problems and issues just like everyone else.
The visuals are impeccable, as can be expected of a Studio Ghibli release. As usual, character designs are simplistic but everything else from foliage to vehicles are stunningly detailed. Each scene is meticulously composed with just the right combination of elements, punctuated with an appropriate piano score.
Ocean Waves is an elegant piece, offering a wistful trip down memory lane for virtually anyone who's ever been in high school. It's something along the lines of "Whisper of the Heart", and even "Boys Be..." to a certain extent. Recommended for those who are into realistic anime.
Miscellanies:
Ocean Waves is about an hour long, since it was made for TV. It has not yet been released in the United States.
This movie is available on laserdisc from Japan and in fan-subtitled versions elsewhere.
Fourteen-year-old Shizuku notices something strange...all the library books she has checked out have been borrowed before by some boy named Amasawa Seiji. (Since "Whisper" is based on a shoujo manga, or girls' comic book, you can bet that at some time during the movie she will meet this mysterious Mr. Amasawa.) Shizuku loves books and reads them whenever she can, and so she makes many trips to the library. When she encounters a cat commuting on the city's rail system, she follows him to a little shop, where her story begins to unfold.
Much of this movie is about creativity. Inspired by what she has seen and done, and encouraged by her friends, Shizuku writes an adventure story with a fierce passion that writers, artists, builders, and programmers will recognize. For young watchers, this movie may validate and encourage their own passion. Their parents should watch also, and in some cases consider if they are ready to cut their potential prodigies some slack rope in pursuit of their dreams (in Shizuku's case, though, it was more than enough to hang herself with). Speaking as someone who was on the receiving end of such freedom, this reviewer attests to its potential value, although neglecting other areas of one's life can be hazardous to one's normal development.
This movie is set in modern-day Tokyo and is a fun way to learn about school life there without the distractions of magic and martial arts that distort reality in other anime. Viewers see how students court one another in middle school: one of Shizuku's friends gets a "love letter" from an admirer who cannot just walk up and introduce himself - it's just not done that way in Japan, as a rule. (Shizuku is a bit of an aberration, though; her parents, who are remarkably liberal as Japanese parents go, don't require her to go to cram school every night to fill her with facts that will get her into the best possible high school.)
Though unusually heavy on the synthesizers, the music is lively and fun. Animation quality is equal to other Studio Ghibli works: inimitable backgrounds, but not enough drawings per second when detailed motion is depicted. There is a slight blurring of fantasy and reality in this movie, but the story features mostly real people living mostly real lives, which is a nice break from most American animation.
Approach: Upbeat, shoujo-style romantic.
Parent's guide: Recommended for all ages. No violence at all, no nudity, no sex, and no foul language, except for one crass word in translation ("p----d"). Boys of certain ages are likely to be bored. Shizuku's older sister appears in a brassiere for a few seconds. Since it has absolutely nothing to do with the story, it is probably culturally obligatory (or cleverly placed to snap the boys to attention just as they nod off, perhaps). The ending has an event which may not seem natural to American viewers; a study of Japanese culture will explain it.
Note: Shizuku's mom and dad seem to let her stay up late. Very, very late. Parents should be prepared to explain why sleep is important for growing bodies.
